Wow! What a busy and exciting time we have had this term, in rabbit class. We have had lots of wonderful enriching experiences such as Multicultural Week, World Book Day, Forest Schools and Outdoor Learning. (Where we found signs of Spring in Little Wood) .Mr Colman has shared his knowledge of music with us all. Danny Lawrence, Captain of the commonwealth games gymnastics team, showed us his tumbling skills. He also talked to us about keeping fit and healthy. We were all exhausted after our exercise session and it got our hearts beating really fast! Danny also awarded the active body certificates to the children who had participated and completed their active body books. Well done to all those children. The Big Write project has helped us to develop our writing skills.
Our topic for this term has been all about Fairy Tales. We have been thinking about how the stories might end differently and have been writing our own endings. We have tried to include time connectives and ‘WOW’ words in our writing.
In maths we have been exploring shapes and have been on a shape walk around our school. We have been learning to tell the time, measure, problem solve, capacity, adding and subtracting.
In our Design Technology lessons we have learnt about bridges and the materials that are used to build them. We designed and made our own model of a bridge. Archie designed a fantastic cargo plane from the K’nex construction kit.
A big thank you to all the parents who have helped us in the classroom and with our outdoor activities.
What a busy term it has been. We are looking forward to the Easter egg hunt on Saturday 21st March. This term has flown by and we are looking forward to more exciting adventures after the Spring break.
