Mrs Dearden and Mrs Forbes have been very pleased with how well the children in rabbit class have settled in to year 1.
We have been learning lots of exciting things. Our topics this term have been about space and winter. We met a new friend at the start of the term. He is called Orbit and he has been helping us learn our phonics each day.
We also had a visit from Paddington Bear. He taught us all about time connectives which we used to make our writing more interesting. Here we are acting out a story using Paddington Bear’s time connectives.
In maths we have been learning how to count in 10s. We used Numicon and other objects to help us count. We managed to count up to 100!
We have also been learning about life in the Artic/ Antartic, including the weather, Artic Explorers, Inuit People and all about the animals who live there. What an great start to the year! We are now rehearsing for our Christmas Nativity and we are looking forward to performing it to everybody. Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and looking forward to more exciting learning next term.
