What a start to school life! Back in September we started our learning journey together and we have all come a long way since then. The term began with getting used to school routines, exploring the environment and learning each other’s names and interests. We hosted a creative learning workshop, run by Imps Creativity, and there was a fantastic turnout of parents for this. Thank you to everyone who came and we hope this provoked some ideas to do at home!
This term we have been involved with at least one outdoor learning session with Mrs Spicker and Mrs Zagni per week. We have walked over to Littlewood for adventures (our latest outing centred on The Stick Man by Julia Donaldson), prepared our allotment for the winter and also worked in the ‘secret area’ of our school grounds. These outdoor learning sessions are an invaluable part of the curriculum we provide.
We have also been busy learning about our Golden Rules and how to be an effective learner. After a lot of hard work we have now completed Phase 2 in our phonics and started Phase 3. We are beginning to apply this into our independent reading and writing. One of our favourite things this term has been watching Number Crew. Baby Bunting and all the rest of the crew have helped us with learning all about shapes and measuring.
We are now busy practicing for our Christmas Performance and are looking forward to enjoying the festive season. Everyone is always welcome to help with our learning inside and beyond the classroom so please come and see one of the Mouse Class team if you are interested.
