Dear Parents and Carers,
Nursery at Drayton Community Infant School
I regret to inform you that we are needing to delay the opening of Drayton Nursery. Despite the Drayton team working tirelessly, alongside the local authority and the Trust to ensure we could deliver what we promised, the number of applications we have received for September are much lower than expected.
In order for us to receive the grants and funding available to ensure the provision is safe, appropriate and enables us to deliver the quality of nursery education we strive for, the nursery must be financially viable.
I appreciate we are close to the end of term and it is important that you have secured a nursery place for your child next year. To all parents I managed to speak to over the phone today who have children wishing to start in September, I thank you for your understanding despite the disappointment.
I am pleased many parents have alternative arrangements for next year, however if this is not the case, we do have a small number of places available at our partnership school, Nightingale Infant and Nursery. As well as nursery provision, the school does offer wrap around care if additional hours are required. If you would like to come and look around and/or speak with Mrs Boyce, the Deputy/EFYS lead you are more than welcome. Please contact the school office on 01603 867976.
We apologise for the disappointment and timeframe of this development and will strive to complete the necessary work required next year so we can invite parents to come and look around ahead of a planned opening of September 2022.
Mrs Sarah Hutt
Acting Partnership Headteacher
