Parent Support

The Parent Support Advisor role for the cluster is vacant at present. Details of new PSA will be notified as soon as it is possible. In the first instance contact class teacher or Headteacher if there are any concerns.

Hello Parents!

Over the past year (yes, it’s been a year already!) I’ve been really busy in all 6 of the Taverham and Drayton schools! The families that I have contacted have been very welcoming and were great to meet! I made contact with parents because of issues raised by class-teachers, but many parents have also contacted me directly for a variety of reasons, ranging from simply a telephone chat about information on courses for parents, to requesting regular meetings to support parents in managing their child’s behaviour at home. Here are some examples of things I’ve done with parents and families:

  • Home Visits to meet parents and listen to their concerns regarding issues in their family
  • Information given to parents about Adult Education Courses in Norwich and Norfolk
  • Signposted parents to local courses in Taverham
  • Advice given on Internet Safety & Books lent to parents
  • Worked with whole families at home
  • Assistance given with the Home Access Scheme (Free laptops)
  • Letters of support given to Agencies, e.g. Housing, Debt, Legal Advice
  • Supported visits to the Child Development Centre
  • Maintained telephone contact and visits as appropriate

And at school…

  • Taken the role of Lead Professional in several CAF’s
  • Delivered 2 Strengthening Families courses (8-week Parent & Youth Programmes)
  • Trained to deliver the Solihull Approach
  • Spoken at School Governers Meetings and Parent Assemblies about my role within the school community
  • Arranged a Pampering Evening
  • Supported the Friends (a bit!)

Do keep checking approved websites for parents, for example:
