Sit Down Dancing

Sit down dancing in Year 2 has been a great way of still exercising during these difficult times with Covid restrictions. The children really enjoy it and it quickly increases their heart rate and improves their mood.

Mouse Class Summer 2021

Wow what an exciting and magnificent half term we have had in Mouse Class!

This half term our overall theme has been minibeasts and our Power of Reading books have been Aaaarrgghh Spider! By Lydia Monks and Yucky Worms by Vivian French. Inspired by our topic we have had several new additions to our classroom; which we have taken care of. These included worms which we kept in our class wormery, snails and even caterpillars which then transformed into butterflies!

In Science we have been learning lots of facts about minibeasts and even created our own non-chronological reports about worms which we were very proud of. We have also been learning about habitats of minibeasts and about what plants need to survive. We thoroughly enjoyed planting our own sunflowers and caring for them.

We ended this extraordinary half term with Maths and Art week. The children have loved learning about new artists and creating work in the style of Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky  and Faith Ringgold.
